Vinnie – Yellow Male X, 16 weeks, 35 lbs.

P-P-P-Puppy Power! Hi everybody! My name is Vinnie and I am full of puppy power! Puppy power is the best! It gives me lots of energy to play, play, play, and play some more! Puppy power also gave me the power to overcome a very frightening health scare recently. One day I became very sick and my foster mom rushed me to the vet. They were afraid I had distemper, which would likely be fatal…I had to be in isolation at the hospital for 48 hours while we all anxiously awaited the test results. My puppy power brought me good luck though and PHEW I tested negative for distemper! I did have pneumonia in both lungs though, so I am still recovering from this ordeal. This experience frightened me a lot and it has made me a bit shy and slow to warm up to new people and new situations. I am still a typical Labbie puppy full of energy, curiosity, silliness, and of course, lots of love, but I just need to find that special forever home that understands that I need a little more patience than your average puppy to feel comfortable. I came to rescue as a stray so not much is known about my past, but I am a very special little dude with a warrior spirit! Well, maybe little is the wrong word to use to describe me – I am mighty big for my age and odds are I am going to grow up to be quite a big guy. My paws are huge!

I love older dogs and really look up to my doggie siblings in my foster home. I love to roll around and wrestle and play with them all day. I am a very good boy and I am working hard on my house-training and crate-training. My foster mom is working with me on my manners and commands too, but like all puppies, I will benefit greatly from taking some training classes with my forever family. Then we can all learn together and have lots of fun! I love playing with other dogs and people of all ages. I am high-energy, but I still love to cuddle up close to my people and take a nap. When I wake up, I am ready for another adventure! Because of my illness, I have not been able to explore the outside world much, so I will need a family who will support me and help me learn how to behave when out and about.

Vinnie is a very special boy who has been through a lot in his young life. He will need a very special family who understands that he will need extra support, patience, and love to gain his confidence back after his health scare. Vinnie is still a fun-loving, goofy fella full of Labrador sillies and love – it just may take some time for him to show his true self to you. Labrador puppies do require a big commitment and their puppy-like behavior often lasts for at least the first 2-3 years of their lives. Vinnie will likely be a very big dog when he is full-grown and will need a family who is committed to training him properly to ensure a lifetime of good behavior. Vinnie is such a sweet little guy who will be a wonderful addition to the right family! Please apply to adopt today at to add some P-P-P-P-Puppy Power to your life!
