Theodore (Teddy), Black Male, 9 months old, 60lbs.
Hi y’all! Teddy is my name and cuddling is my game! I am a super sweet dpup looking for a family to be mine forever – maybe it could be you? I am a young pup, full of those sweet puppy kisses and playful puppy antics. I am one lucky boy – I received a Christmas miracle this year! I was found alone on the streets by a good Samaritan on Christmas Day…luckily for me, she was full of Christmas spirit and she took me into her home and let me stay there while she searched for my family. She thought surely someone was missing me, after all I am pretty special if I do say so myself. But no one ever came for me, so she contacted those wonderful Defenders of Dogs at the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno to help me and ensure I get the best forever family ever! My foster family is awesome – I have four doggie foster siblings to play with and they love me and pet me and they teach me so many things about how to be a good doggie! They say I am ready to find my forever family now, so I am super excited!
I am a young boy, but I am not too full of that signature Labbie puppy craziness. I had to grow up fast to survive on the streets, so I am a bit more mature than your average 9-month old Labrador. I still love to play a lot, but I am not a total whirlwind of energy like a lot of pups! I love to play fetch and will fetch all day long. I am a retriever after all – it is only natural! I love to cuddle on my people’s lap and I am just a big teddy bear. I am a very smart boy, and I have already mastered house-training, crate-training, leash-training, and I know how to “sit”, “down”, “wait” and “give”! I would love to go to dog school with my forever family to learn even more commands and tricks – I adore pleasing my people so much! I love playing with other dogs, big and small, and it sure is fun to play with those human puppies too! I like to chase cats a bit too much, so a feline-free home would be best for me.
Teddy’s name suits him perfectly – he is a sweet cuddly teddy bear who wants nothing more than a warm lap to cuddle on and someone to throw a ball for him. He is a quiet boy who has a pleasant energy level for such a young dog – still energetic but not too wild! Teddy will likely grow a bit bigger as he is still quite young, but he will always be on the smaller side for a male Labrador. Teddy is great with children and other dogs and would love to have some playmates in his forever home. His happy well-mannered demeanor makes him the perfect family dog!
