Raven – Black Female X, 4 Years Old, 62 LBS

Cha-ching, I hit the jackpot with Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno. I didn’t realize how bad I had it before! I was neglected because of a family illness so I didn’t get to interact with many people and I’m initially shy around anyone new. I’m getting better every day, I’m chillin in the foothills with another lab and a German shepherd. They are rescue dogs too, so they understand what I’m going through. I get to play with dogs my own size and they are my best buds.

Now that I am settling in, I do great on a leash and I will sit and lay down with a little encouragement, like treats. I’m house broken and enjoy sleeping in my crate all night. I even like to lay in it to be by myself, as the other lab here is a lot younger than me, so he wants to tussle all the time. We had a party here and I came into a house full of people, didn’t really care for all the commotion. My upright mom and dad say I’m good around the 3 (dog savvy) cats here, I totally ignore them, which gets them all twisted up.

I’m 4 years old and past that puppy, lets tear everything up, stage and I like to take naps during the day. I think I would do best in a home where there isn’t a lot of chaos, I’m on the mellow side of energy, so I don’t need too much exercise to mellow out at night when everyone is falling asleep and snoring at the TV. I like to take rides in the truck and do good. Summing this all up:

My good points:

  • Mellow personality
  • Great with cats
  • Don’t eat the furniture
  • Great with other dogs
  • House broken
  • Has pretty good manners

My not so good points:

  • I was diagnosed with some lousy hips the vet thinks is due to bad breeding practices L but with mild exercise and pain management, I’m doing pretty darn good!

So, as you can see, I’m almost perfect!! If you want this kind of dog forever, fill out an app and let’s talk!!

Raven is a virtual bomb proof girl who loves other dogs, her people, affection and is an otherwise healthy girl besides the not so healthy hips. She is doing very well on pain management and lighter exercise and could benefit with some light physical therapy like swimming. Due to this, her adoption fee has been reduced to $100. Raven would make a wonderful friend for some lucky family.
