Brandy – Black Female, 4 years old, 71 pounds
♪ ♫ “Brandy, you’re a fine girl (you’re a fine girl)” ♪ ♫ That’s what my foster mom always sings to me! I didn’t always feel so fine though. Not long ago I found myself in doggie jail. I don’t know why. Maybe they just didn’t want me anymore after selling my puppies. But my ship was ready to sail! Someone from Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno came and bailed me out. Now I live with my foster family and their two Labradors. I am learning to sit for treats and meals, but I still can’t contain my wiggle butt for long! I am happy to see visitors to our home, even though I am a bit shy out in the big wide world. It is all new to me. I hope to find someone with the time and patience to teach me more about confidence. My foster mom says I will do well in obedience school, because I’m a smart girl and we can learn together!
I sometimes sleep in the crate and sometimes I sleep loose in the house. I am not destructive at night, but I am a bit restless. I will also help myself to goodies if you leave them on the counter. My foster family does not have cats, but I will chase the neighbor’s kitties if they are in our yard. My skin was a bit dry and flaky because of poor diet, but with my special shampoo, it is already looking better. I am in search of that special someone to love. Could it be you?
Brandy is available through Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno. She is house broken, but will need leash work and obedience lessons. She has given a couple of barks at other dogs on outings, but then quiets down, so she should do well at Doggie School. She is a bit shy, so she will need someone willing to take it slow and give her time to learn new surroundings. She has not been around inside cats or children. She would love to snuggle up next to you on the sofa and make your home her safe harbor.
