Buster is a very fun and loving dog. He is great with kids and loves to be with his people. He can be picky about his doggie friends so would prefer to be your one and only best boy. We are not home to give him the love he deserves and also our backyard is not dog friendly we do not have grass and our backyard is taken mostly up by our pool. We received him from a family member when he was about 3 months old as a gift so he is not a stray. He needs a yard where he can run and play and would love to have a jogging partner. He is a very good dog and we are heart broken we have to give him up. We want him to go to a good home where he is loved and cared for so if you can not provide this please do not respond to this ad. Kerman was rescued from a small rural holding facility where he came in as a stray. Kerman was absolutely terrified and had his tail very tucked when we rescued him. Once we brought him home and introduced him to the pack, he warmed up quickly. Kerman is still a puppy in the lab world. He’s sweet, loves attention, to be petted and gets along with other dogs. We don’t know about cats yet. Kerman is a very smart young lab who wants to learn and is very attentive. He’s a goofy boy that loves to play, but can also relax and hang out. Kerman is crate trained and walks well on leash. He did well in the car and likes to look out the window. We are working on house training but don’t think it will take long, as he’s very responsive and wants to please. Kerman would love a family of his own. He will require the dedication and patience needed for any puppy to become a good canine citizen. Kerman will be a great companion for one lucky family!

Bella was surrendered to Lab Rescue when her people had to move and could no longer care for her. She was starved for attention and affection. She is a sweet girl who only wants to please and be by your side. She has been alone for quite some time, so is getting used to being around her doggie buddies again. She may be a bit too interested in cats to trust right now. She’s had no accidents in the house so far. She walks pretty well on leash, likes car rides and knows “sit and stay”. Bella could stand to lose a few pounds to be the perfect labbie size she should be. She is learning that jumping up on people is unacceptable. Bella’s people tell us that she was brought up with children and does well with them. Bella was relegated to being outside and is now Jamesenjoying house time with her foster family. Bella is now spayed and recooping from that. We’re still getting to know this sweet girl and will update soon. Bella would love a family that will treat her as part of the family. She’ll be a wonderful companion.

Sprocket’s people lived in the country with inadequate fencing. So what’s a young guy gonna do when bored? Go lookin for love in all the wrong places, of course! Unfortunately, Sprocket found his way to a rural shelter on more than one occasion. He wasn’t picked up the last time. When Lab Rescue came to meet him – he was all wags and happiness and “please get me out of here”. Now that Sprocket’s hormones are subsiding because of neutering, he can concentrate on other things like playing and learning.

Sprocket is a big, good-natured, friendly puppy. In fact, he wins the hearts of whomever meets him with his happy demeanor. He’s outgoing, people oriented and loves attention. He likes playing with other dogs, we’re not sure about cats yet. Sprocket is being crate trained and learning to walk on leash. We’re guessing he might be house trained or close to it, (no accidents so far but no guarantees). Sprocket would do well with an active family. He is still a puppy, so we are looking for a dedicated adopter who is willing to put in the time to make Sprocket the best dog ever. He’d love to have a buddy to play with or at least someone around more often. Sprocket has just come into rescue, so we are still getting to know him. We have a feeling we won’t have that opportunity, because the handsome boy will go fast.

When Lab Rescue first saw Venus at our local high kill shelter, it was crushing. Although Venus did not have the words to share her sad life, her body was vivid evidence of an existence of lonely solitude and neglect. Because she was extremely underweight, very sick, black and very large, she was scheduled to be destroyed. Venus had obviously been repeatedly bred, not fed properly and looked to have been tethered. She had obviously never had a kind word nor a gentle hand touch her. Venus was quite fearful of loud noises and people coming toward her with quick movements, especially men. That was then…

This is now – although she had a difficult time fighting off the infection that racked her body, Venus is quite the determined young female. She truly thrives on attention and lots of nutritious food. Venus has blossomed into a loving sweet big girl. What surprises us most about Venus is her calm demeanor – easy going, gentle, and sweet. One look into her soulful eyes and she will have you won over. Venus has finally been able to be a dog and have fun, play with other dogs, with toys – to be a puppy for the first time! Venus is house trained and crate trained, although doesn’t need to be crated. She’s very good in the house when left for hours free. She quietly sleeps on her doggie bed at night. Venus gets along with other dogs and is learning basic commands. She loves to ride in the car and is learning some control on leash. She’s a lover and does not jump on people or children. Venus has ignored cats while on her walks in the neighborhood.

Now Venus is looking for her forever home. A home where she can continue to share her love and gratitude. A home that will give her a kind word and a gentle touch. A little time spent with her will be rewarded with devotion beyond your wildest dreams. Please open your heart and home to Venus.

Hi, my name is ODIE and I’m a neutered approx 5 yr old male. I am a very sweet dog. I was touted to be a livestock guardian but, I’m not! I love people and I’m very friendly, I’ll fall asleep with you just stroking my coat and telling me what a great guy I am! I was also a real good boy at the vet’s and walk nicely on a leash. I like coming inside and I’m housebroken. I’d do best in an adult household and ask that you please take me in and show me the comforts I’ve missed and I’ll reward that with lots and lots of love. I’m a very special guy, the rescue lady tells me!

Bella was taken to the local pound by her “owners” to be euthanized. Why? Probably because her mange had gotten bad enough that they couldn’t stand the sight of her, much less touch her. The missing hair around her neck also indicated that she had been tethered. Demodex is a non-contagious mange that can be brought on by neglect, bad nutrition and stress. All seem probable for this poor girl. Luckily someone was kind enough to alert LRRF to save her life, and we did. That was then and this is now:

Bella is a loving, sweet girl that craves affection and adores being with her humans. She gets along with other dogs. We don’t know about cats yet. Bella is crate trained although she currently sleeps soundly on her doggie bed next to her people. She is fine on leash with a few corrections and loves to go for a walk. Bella is happy playing fetch, although she will try to get EVERY tennis ball into her mouth at the same time! She knows the commands Sit, Stay and Shake. Her foster mom reports that Bella LOVES the hair dryer for some reason.

Bella is not the typical overly hyper Lab, but is content watching TV and spending time relaxing with you. She rides great in the car and in fact, you kind of forget she’s even there. Bella is completely house trained and although she has no food aggression, can sometimes be a bit protective over her toys/bones with other dogs.

Bella’s beautiful coat is filling in nicely and she’ll continue to get better until her awful past is just a brief memory. She is looking for a real home this time with caring people who would never dream of tying her out. A family that will give her a gentle pet and the love she’s always deserved.

I rescued Bella from the SPCA. She is a sweet 20 month old black lab mix. Bella is current on all her shots and is spayed. Bella has alot of energy and LOVES to be with people. She is a little timid to get to know new people but she is a sweet loving dog. I have two small dachsuhunds that she adores. Unfortunately Bella is too rough for them. Millie, a sweet girl, needs her forever home! She is a 5 year old lab mix who thinks that she is a lap dog! She LOVES people and is always looking to snuggle. She would do best with a loving owner with a backyard (she loves to people watch from my balcony). She prefers to be the only dog in the house and often does not get along with other dogs so it is best to avoid dog parks. I adopted Millie from the pound, so I do not know her history. For unforeseen reasons, I can no longer keep Millie and I need to find her a new home so she does not go back to the pound.
