Simon

Simon – Black Male, 11 years, 90 lbs

Hi nice people! My name is Simon and I am a playful and lovable senior Labbie looking for a family to call my own! Simon says “I need a forever family to love!” I am not sure how a sweet old guy like me ended up in a shelter, but I did…luckily for me those Defenders of Dogs at LRRF took one look at me and knew I still have lots of love to give! Now I live with my wonderful foster family – my foster mom fills my belly with delicious food, gives me a soft bed to rest on, she plays fun games with me and gives me toys, and best of all, she gives me love and the confidence to know that I too am worthy of a forever family to share the rest of my days with.

Now I know what you may be thinking…11 years old! He is old and must be so lazy and not like to play anymore. Well my friends, don’t forget that age is just number – I still love to play games and race around the yard! I love playing fetch and would prefer to play at least one game of fetch per day with my forever family. I also love to play games with my tug toy. I am old enough to know my manners though and I am way past that crazy chewing puppy stage. I have impeccable house manners and am fully house-trained and crate-trained. I am a very friendly guy and I sure love people of all ages, even the really tiny ones! I also love to play with other dogs and would likely even get along with a dog-savvy cat, as I have a very gentle and easy-going temperament. One of my favorite activities is cuddling with my people, so forever family, let’s be sure to always set aside some time for daily snuggles!

Simon is a beautiful soul with a zest for life that is inspiring! His happy-go-lucky spirit and playful manner are sure to warm your heart. Sweet Simon may be a bit older and have some grey fur, but he still loves to play and is quite active for his age. Simon is an all-around perfect family dog – he is simply a delight to be around!
