Scarlett #2

Scarlett #2 – The Classic Collection

Yellow Female, 8 Years, 70 lbs

Scarlett here, a one of a kind classic looking for her Tara – as in Scarlett’s home in Gone with the Wind. In case you aren’t a classic movie fan, Tara is Scarlett O’Hara’s ancestral home. Don’t worry if you haven’t seen the movie, we can watch it together, curled up on the couch eating popcorn. Or, if you already are a fan, we can watch it again and again! Just come and meet me and I will turn you into a Classic fan in a heartbeat because, frankly, we belong together.

Now, just so you know, I spent the last years with my elderly owner. I made sure he was safe and secure and never felt lonely. I made sure he was never without someone to pet, someone to keep his feet warm, someone to share breakfast with. As time went on, and he became more and more ill, we lived a pretty secluded life. Then one day, he left me and went to Heaven. The rest of the family not understanding I too was part of the family, took me to a shelter to put me out of my misery. Misery? Are they kidding?! I have more energy and love than any modern-day pup! I still have a mission on God’s Green Earth to ensure another is safe, secure, exercised, and knows love and companionship. Thank Goodness for me and you that the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno saw the same thing in me! They saved me and brought me to a temporary resting place called a “foster home.” They are wonderful, kind people but they don’t need me like you do.

So here I am, Scarlett, without her family and her Tara. I am the perfect southern lady… well, ok, I’m learning to be the perfect lady. Remember, life has been pretty quiet lately so I need a few gentle reminders. I am house trained, and will use the crate but I much prefer to be near your feet. Oh, and the pure joy in going for long walks! I could walk all day! And toys! Fetch is such a fun game. And as you can probably tell, I am kind of a talker! Think of all the conversations we can have. I do love people as well – all shapes and sizes. But I have been without the four-legged companions for so long I find them kind of tiresome and would really prefer to be your only southern belle. So, what are you waiting for? Classic’s like me don’t come around every day! Adopt me and you will see, your home was just waiting for a Scarlett to make it complete.

Scarlett is available for adoption through the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno. She is a house-trained girl who still has a lot of energy in her heart. She knows sit and is working on stay and learns very quickly. She loves walks and playing fetch and being near her human. There is no cat in the foster home, but she should either be an only dog, or will require patience and the proper introductions to live with other dogs.
