Mickey – From Our Disney Collection

Black Male X, apprx 1 year, 50 lbs.

M – I – C – K – E – Y – M- O – U – S -E! Hey, drop the “mouse” and that’s me! Do you know what my ol’ pal Walt Disney used to say? He would say “Mickey, if you can dream it, you can do it!” Well, I can dream pretty darn good! I dream of playing on the grass on a family picnic. I dream of playing retrieve. I dream of belly rubs and hugs and giving kisses too. But most of all I dream of loving you – will you be my Minnie to my Mickey?

How did I end up here? Well, some people just don’t understand the love of the Mouse! Do people really think you can dump a dog on the edge of town and they can survive by themselves? Or are they counting on the good hearts of others to clean up their mess? It causes rescuers to shake their head. And in an area of fast traveling cars, I was left behind – the same general area where Minnie and Lily were abandoned. I had a “home done” neuter gone bad, infected, yet I ran and ran until I dropped and collapsed on the porch of someone I hoped was a friend. Lucky for me, they took me to the vet and got me fixed up real quick. Then they contacted the Hero’s as great as any Mr. Disney could imagine – the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno! And as all our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them – I am here pursuing every dogs dream of being a beloved member of a family.

Me? I am a young boy with plenty to learn; you see, I have never been allowed inside a home. But I feel like I have been sprinkled with pixie dust, and despite my past am still loving and loyal. My two-legged toddler brother is my current best friend – I can play with him for hours. I am sure we could have some wonderful adventures – I am up for anything. I just need you to be my friend. Never stop dreaming – you are never too old for Disney!

Mickey is a smaller size male available for adoption through the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno. A very loving boy, he never meets a stranger and is happy to give a kiss or two to anyone who wants one. He gets along well with people and other dogs but has not been tested with cats. As with all young labs, exercise and an investment in training are an essential part of Happily Ever After. Do you have room in your home and heart for this sweet boy?
