Emily & Charlotte

Puppies! Emily and Charlotte
Black females, Age 5 Months

Puppies! Where, where? Silly Charlotte, we are puppies! Hello, my name is Emily, I’m the mostly black with a touch of chocolate, and that there is my sister, Charlotte, mostly chocolate with a touch of black. We are the Bronte sisters looking for forever homes. (We are ready to venture out on our own, so we can be adopted separately.) We come complete with puppy breath and teeth, and excess sweetness. We are such adorable posers we could be calendar girls! All you need is to bring the love, training, and commitment and we will be complete!

I am sure you are wondering how two such literary legends ended up with the wonderful people of the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno. Well, if you are reading our story, you know about rescue and how important it is to dogs like us. You probably know that going into most shelters is a death sentence for dogs. What you may not know that a group of rescuers decided this wasn’t acceptable. This remarkable group took on the system and won the contract for the Fresno County Shelter. This same band of people, under resourced, but filled with the power of passionate love, took over and named the shelter Fresno Humane Animal Services. In the past, more than 70% of the dogs that entered there ended up dead. There was disease, and no coordination with rescue groups. Now, FHAS works with all the rescues, networks, educates, microchips, spays, neuters, all sorts of things to help dogs like my sister and I – they are so good in fact, they are on track to becoming a no-kill place! And so, when my sister and I ended up in the shelter, they called the defenders of dogs! And here we are, ready to be your best friend for life! Lift a paw in salute to the little shelter that could!

Now, when you adopt a puppy like us you need to know we are like a sponge, ready to soak up all that you will give. We need love. We need training. We need a crate. We need patience. We need exercise. We need a commitment of 15 or so years. But do you know what? Every investment in us will be repaid ten-fold. So, what are you waiting for? Puppies kisses are free!

Emily and Charlotte are available for adoption through the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno and can be adopted separately. They are crate trained and get along with dogs and people. Emily likes to patrol the boarders and will alert you when people are near. Both are loving, sweet and, well, obviously super cute! Puppies are a commitment of about 15 years. If you are interested in adoption please fill out an application at our website: www.labrescuefresno.org. Please remember, puppies generate lots of applications, so please be patient as we are entirely volunteer based.
