Dug

Dug

Dug is a yellow (Fox Red) male, approx. 7 years old and 117 lbs.

Dug was rescued from a shelter in Visalia when his time ran out. The picture in the car is the day he was “sprung” – he was so happy! At 117 pounds, Dug’s very overweight and needs to be put on doggie weight watchers. Either he was ignored and they were free feeding him (big no no with Labs) or he got LOTS of table scraps, we really don’t know. But what we do know is that Dug has a wonderful temperament. He was around a 2-1/2 year old and did very well. Dug seems to especially love men. He gets along with other dogs, ignores cats, is house trained and knows “sit” and “down”. He’s super responsive to doggie treats (go figure). He really likes to go for a walk and has a lot of energy; pulls a little at first because he’s excited, but when corrected he listens well and settles down for a nice stroll. Dug rides well in the car and loves his crate, especially when there’s a doggie pillow inside. When the door is left open he still goes in and snuggles down on his pillow. If the door is closed he will bark to go potty! Dug LOVES to walk around with a ball. He also loves squeaky toys, but will shred them rather quickly, so a KONG would be great for him. Dug is so loving and people oriented that it would be a shame for him to spend long days by himself. Once Dug drops his extra pounds, he’ll be just about perfect! Dug is anxiously waiting for his new forever home.
