Boris

Boris – Black Male, 2 years

Being a rescue dog doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with me, but that I was let down by humans. Case in point, no matter how fancy the pedigree, you would be hard pressed to find such a gentleman dog as me, especially one as young! My name is Boris and I am a bit embarrassed to say the paparazzi that took my picture couldn’t believe how perfect I am, how shiny and handsome is my fur, how soft my ears, and how much love radiated from my eyes. They are sure I am destined to have a happily ever after with my very own family to love me. Might that be you?

I am sure you are curious how such a treasure as I needed rescue. My life started out as pretty much a horror story, concluding with me and my two brothers ending up in the pokey. Ever ride in the back seat of a police car? Scary stuff! We ended up in the Doggy Protection Program run by a not so secret group of Doggy Champions – the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno. And with them we experienced our first ever human kindness. And do you know what? It is addicting! I love to be loved! I love the hand of human kindness. My life has gone from a horror story to a love story! And it is getting better every day! My rescue friends have promised to find me the best family, who will love me forever, never let me down, who will return my loyalty with loyalty in return. I am hoping you, my beautiful new family, are reading this right now!

Me? Well, I am very calm for a two-year-old and get along well with other dogs. I am shy with people a moment or two, but if you show yourself as a dog-lover, I will quickly warm up. My happiest moments are by my owner’s side, next to you, and then maybe in your lap! I am a house-trained gentleman, but as I am still young, please provide the appropriate toys for chewing. I haven’t had any formal schooling, but I do have an A+ head tilt, oh, and they tell me I am quite handsome and charming too! For you, I would be happy to learn all the things to make you proud – just take me to school and show me how. I just know we can spend a lifetime of adventures together if you are willing to invest in a Rescue Dog like me!

Boris is available for adoption through the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno. He is house trained, rides well in a car, and loves walks on a leash. He gets along well with other dogs but has not been tested with cats. He is a sweet boy who just longs for love. As with all young labs, regular exercise and training are essential to ensure a healthy, happy relationship.
