Aspen – The Forest Collection ~ Black Female, 3 Years

Oh, Hi! My name is Aspen – did I tell you I am looking for my furever home? I’m a beautiful ebony girl who has overcome many challenges in my young life, but it has left me stronger and very appreciative of any love that comes my way. I also realize life is too short not to enjoy every minute of it, especially if you have been rescued like me, so I am smiling all the time now, eager and ready to go! I am very smart and like to learn and would love to find my mentor, my best friend, my everything. I am ready to celebrate many adventures with you if you are the one!

Now you should know, I take my job as the family Labrador very seriously! Who is going to bring the ball back to you when it tries to escape? Why, me of course! No matter how many times it tries to get away! And who is going to keep four legged rodents out of your yard? Me, of course! You don’t have to worry about them bothering your garden, or the cats jumping the fence and pooping in our yard when I am on the job! And when you need a walk, well count on me for that too! I am always up to make sure you get your daily exercise! But best of all, at the end of the day when you need someone to hug on and cuddle on, I am there, by your side, loyal to the end!

If you’re wondering how such an awesome, happy girl like me ended up needing rescue, well, it’s the same sad story – no one trained my previous owners. Can you believe that? I tried to tell them what it’s all about – that us dogs need to take them to training, that you need to let us exercise you, but most important, we need to be part of the family, a beloved family member. Instead, they took me to the “shelter”. Basically a stupid name for a place where most dogs die. But lucky for me, the Legends of Labs, the Fresno Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno, found me just in time. They are kind of like Match.Com for dogs and are helping us get together to be the perfect family. So, they have gotten me this far – what are you waiting for???

Aspen is available for adoption through the Labrador Retriever Rescue of Fresno. She is a sweet energetic girl that loves to have people around and would fit in with just about any active family. Like all young labs, she requires regular exercise and would benefit from training. Aspen is house and crate trained, and would make an excellent hiking or jogging buddy. She gets along well with medium to large dogs but no cats or small animals. If you have room in your heart and home for this sweet girl, please fill out an application at our website:

Thank You for considering adoption. Together we are saving them, one dog at a time.
